Many child develop this painful disease. It differs from other autism spectrum disorders by its relative preservation of linguistic and cognitive development. Although not required for diagnosis, physical clumsiness and atypical use of language are frequently reported. Autism New Zealand says it’s concerned a Christchurch man with Asperger’s Syndrome who has been charged with looting after last week’s earthquake has been imprisoned with no help.
