BeanpotThe Beanpot refers primarily to a men’s ice hockey tournament among the four major college hockey schools of the Boston, Massachusetts area, held annually since the 1952-53 season. Boston College’s Jimmy Hayes scored six minutes into overtime to lift the Eagles to a 7-6 win over Northeastern Monday night in the Beanpot championship at the TD Garden. Hayes scored from the doorstep in the open Northeastern net, snapping the game’s sixth tie and giving the Eagles their second overtime win of the tournament
