Justin Bieber shot to fame in 2009 after his mom posted videos online of the Stratford, Ont., teen singing at a talent contest and belting out other R&B numbers. Stars Justin Timberlake and Usher both showed interest in signing and mentoring Bieber, but R&B singer and producer Usher won out. Soon after, Bieber recorded his debut album My World on the Island Def Jam label, and the rest is teen pop history.
