Lungsta chosen to Host 2010 Channel O Awards
Channel O presenter Lungile “Lungsta” Radu will take on the role as 2010 Channel O Music Video Awards host. Over the years the multi-talented Lungile has made his mark in the entertainment industry through hosting shows like O-Boma, Dance Africa, Goal Diggerz as well as co-hosting the previous year’s awards ceremony.
On the night he will be joined on stage by Thomas Gumede. The actor and comedian has performed at numerous live comedy gigs, including the successful 99% Zulu Comedy Show in Durban, South Africa.
Loyiso Gola had been announced as event host for the live show which will take place on Thursday November 4 at the Sandton Convention Center in South Africa, but due to conflicting schedules, the popular South African comedian will not host the awards ceremony.
“Loyiso is a talented comedian and that is one of the reasons we had chosen him to host this year’s Channel O Music Video Awards, but unfortunately with great talent comes even greater demand and the awards are our flagship event and the time required to rehearse for the first ever live broadcast is considerable. A mutual understanding was reached between him and the channel and we look forward to working with him on future projects,” says Yolisa Phahle, Channel Director: Special Interest Channels.
The Channel O Music Video Awards will be screened live on DStv on Thursday November 4, 2010.
