The National Electronic Media Institute of South Africa NEMISA and SABC Education are offering bursary opportunities to the value of R1 million.
Students interested in a career in electronic media should apply before 31 October 2009 for the following bursaries.
•National Certificate in radio production - candidates need matric/grade 12 / NQF level 4 qualification, English language NQF level 4 and an aptitude interview.

•Diplomas in graphic design in multimedia and animation - candidates need Matric/Grade 12 / NQF level 4 related qualification and Mathematics and English at NQF level 4. They must undergo an entrance exam and present a visual portfolio.
•National Certificate in television production - candidates need matric/grade 12 / NQF level 4 qualification and an aptitude interview.

Simphiwe Ngcobo, head of business development and marketing from NEMISA says, "The institute has been training young people from diverse backgrounds since 2000 on a fulltime basis in the areas of television and radio production, with just under 40 students a year. The students primarily came from disadvantaged backgrounds with emphasis on women who made up at least 60% of the student population. It has grown and now produces more than 160 graduates a year in various accredited programmes who have found employment in large media companies.”
