NPA withdraws charges against DJ Mzee(Mzilikazi Wa Afrika)

The National Prosecuting Authority says it has decided to provisionally withdraw charges of defeating the ends of justice and uttering against house music producer and journalist Mzilikazi "Mzee" wa Afrika.

Sunday Times editor Ray Hartley says police chief Bheki Cele owes wa Afrika a big apology.
"The case docket containing evidential material was submitted to prosecutors in the NPA. After perusing the case docket we are of the view that it is desirable that the matter be fully investigated prior to taking a decision on whether or not to prosecute," reads a statement by NPA advocate Mthunzi Mhaga.
"We therefore deem it appropriate that the charges be provisionally withdrawn pending further investigations."  Once investigations have been concluded, the docket will be resubmitted to the NPA.The National Prosecuting Authority says it has decided to provisionally withdraw charges of defeating the ends of justice and uttering against house music producer and journalist Mzilikazi "Mzee" wa Afrika.
