Ukhozi FM scores a Golden Disc

Popular Afro-pop outfit Freshlyground was in Durban yesterday to present a gold disc to Ukhozi FM, the KwaZulu-Natal SABC station that boasts 6million listeners.

The Doo Bee Doo singers looked tired at the station's offices, with lead singer Zolani Mahola dressed in takkies, a black dress and red tights.
They said in addition to presenting the discs to radio stations that supported them with airplay for their latest release Radio Africa, they had come to the city to perform a corporate gig for chicken outlet Nando's.
Mahola was joined by Kyla Rose Smith, who is known for her vocal and violin prowess, as well as Julio Sigauque, the acoustic guitarist who recently performed with international singing sensation Shakira.
